InsertRVFFromFileEd (as well as all editor's methods for insertion) only

overwrites the selection.

It does not modify the existing styles, but it can add new styles.

Sorry, I do not understand the problem. Can you send me a simple project

demonstrating it?

PS: you do not need to call Format after InsertRVFFromFileEd.
