memory problem using rvMedia

Post by nevoMV »

Hello!

I'm using RVMedia Component 2.1.1 and delphi XE6.

during a longer Time, the system memory of delphi programs with rvMedia components is continuously increasing.
I tested it also with the webcam sample (select camera and press "Camera on", no snapshots) coming with rvMedia.
It is the same result:
Memory increase is depending on camera:

Logitech C525: 1 hour: 9MB increase
IDS uEye: 1 hour: 60MB! increase

Can you help me with this?
Because my project needs to run 72h...

Unfortunately, we were not able to reproduce increase of memory usage on our Webacam demo.
In our tests (we tried twice on different computers with different cameras), Task Manager may show increasing memory usage, but after 12 hours, it showed memory usage even less than at the beginning.
Actually, Task Manager cannot be used as a reliable source of information about memory usage: if an application constantly allocates and frees memory, it may show increase and decrease in unexpected moments of time.
The further discussion in a private message.

It looks like the presence of this problem depends on a web camera driver.

We uploaded RVMedia 2.2.1, where this problem is fixed.
